| | Sadly, the domestic mill that knit our Polypropylene struggled as the garment industry moved overseas in the 90's, finally to succumb during the recession. We've spent the last several years working hard to find a new source, after first buying up every ounce of the fiber we could find. As you know, we pulled the product from our line early last year, having run out of our last bolts.
Knowing we were starting at square one, we decided to create something that not only did the job but went further. For more than two years, none of the prototype yardage met our standards. Not enough stretch, not enough compression, not enough memory, not enough--quality. Until now.
We are thrilled to announce that this project is over, and that we've nailed it. During May our first run of new JL Polypro trou will be available for team purchase, online and at all events. This is not the Polypro we used in the last three decades, but it is the Polypropylene fabric we have engineered, meant to move with us into the next three decades.
What is this new fabric like and how is it different than the original? The features that you banked on--sloughs water away, wears forever--these carry through because of the properties of the fiber. We made it denser, we made it with a touch more lycra, we made it lighter in weight. This equates to a garment that gives you all the features needed in a hard working pair of Trou, but with more compression and less bulk.
One sure thing--this project has reminded us why a JL product outlasts the competition--we will not settle for "good enough."
Thanks for your patience, and thanks for working with us through this process. For the first month, we will be running a promotional, re-introductory special offer on our new JL Polypro Trou. Watch for the sale notice coming in the JL Newsletter!
