Splashvest--How it Should Fit
The Splashvest is made to be warn close to the body, but should not be snug. We have different patterns for women and men, each has the same in-the-boat functionality.
	A. Your Splashvest should fit close to the body, with the lower back feeling close but not tight around your hips. You should have plenty of room to wear a snug-fitting baselayer beneath your vest. The real test is to go into full compression--whether on the ground or on an erg. If meant to be worn upright, then just jump around! B. Stretch panels allow for great venting and movement C. Vests with Fleece will fit differently than vests made with mesh (or unlined vests) since the fleece takes up actual volume inside the garment. A Fleece-lined vest will feel tighter than an unlined vest of the same size, but will still be true to size.

Fabrics used for Front and Back of Splashvest
	DuPont™ Hytrel®: 100% midweight SupplexTM with Dupont Hytrel® Membrane Two-ply waterproof/breathable SupplexTM laminate shell fabric. The addition of an enhanced hydrophobic treatment to the Supplex outer layer enables waterproof DWR (durable water repellant) to adhere to the material for an extremely extended lifetime. The SupplexTM is then laminated to Hytrel®, Dupont's breathable waterproof membrane. Bright and fast colors to match your team. Technical Properties: Waterproof, breathable, UPF Rating 40 Colors available: Black, Navy, Red, White, Royal Blue, Maroon, Burgundy, Athletic Gold, Forest Green, Kelly Green, Flourescent Yellow, Fuscia Pink, True Orange, Columbia Blue, Carbon, Regal Purple.
	Flashlite®: 100% Nylon, 310 gram If you are a backpacker, you'll recognize this one--made of nylon ripstop, our Flashlite is a featherweight, waterproof breathable fabric. It has a 2.5 Raised Coating layer, which means garments made with Flashlite do not need to be lined--you can wear it next to your skin. Colors are especially vibrant in this fabric. Technical Properties: Waterproof, breathable, not sticky on your skin. Colors available: Black, Red, Navy, White, Royal Blue, Athletic Gold, Hi-Viz Flourescent (seasonal)
	Gamex E3: 100% Polyester, 100 gram This textile is windproof and highly water-resistant. Enthusiastically lightweight with an ultra-elastic, hydrophyllic, 20u thick PU mambrane, permeable to water vapor (RET values of 5-15) Technical Properties: Breatheable, stretchable, windproof, water-rejecting. Colors available: White (sublimate-able), Black, Navy, Hi-Viz yellow
Lightweight 4-way Stretch Choices
	E1 DWR Mesh: 78% Polyester, 22% Lycra, 180 gram This lightweight mesh (used on side panels) actively absorbes persperation and allows it to pass through away from the skin. The DWR (Durable Water Resistant) finish means that water actually beads on the surface and rolls away! Amaze your friends. Technical Properties: Breatheable, stretchable, water-rejecting Colors available: White (sublimate-able)
	Drywick:88% Polyester extreme microfiber, 12% Lycra – 370 gram Our workhorse full-stretch fabric at JL. This mid-weight strong yet supple fabric is perfect for most of our Technical Rowing garments. Drywick is constructed of the highest quality Microfiber and still boasts famous durability. Technical Properties: Wicking, Anti-microbial, Microfiber Technology, and high UPF rating. Available in our broadest color selection: Black, Navy, Red, White, Royal Blue, Maroon, Burgundy, Athletic Gold, Yellow, Forest Green, Kelly Green, Orange, Lilac, Columbia Blue, Academy Blue, Leander Pink, Regal Purple, Carbon Grey, Hi-Viz Yellow, Texas Orange, Platinum Grey, Turquoise, Cambridge Blue, and Penn Red.

Stretch Fleece Choices

	Malden's Polartec® Powerstretch®: 94% Polyester, 6% Lycra, 200 gr weight FOUR-WAY STRETCH POLARFLEECE!!!! Double velour anti-pill fleece (the one we've all come to love) combined with lycra, this incredibly warm fleece features breathable body-hugging 4-way stretch. Technical Properties: 4-way stretch, highly breathable, abrasion- and pill-resistant, wicking Colors available: Black, Navy, Royal Blue in stock.

	ThermoRoubaix®: 45% Nylon, 42% Polyester 13% Lycra, 235 gr weight Warp knitted FOUR-WAY STRETCH Single sided Fleece. Technical Properties: 4-way stretch, highly breathable, abrasion- and pill-resistant, highly wickable Colors available: 18-piece minimum on all colors: Black, Red, Royal Blue, Orange, Kelly Green, Active Pink, Turquoise,Navy Blue, Carbon

Design your Splashvest

When you sit down to design your JL Splashvest, there are three important issues:

Consider your body type and your climate; do you need the warmth of Powerstretch® Fleece all around, or is it just wind-break you are after?
We have almost every team color in Hytrel and Drywick, however Flashlight and Powerstretch® Fleece colors are more limited.
Our design team has created Splashvests with stripes and swirls--if you want to add some flash to your team design, don't be shy, just ask if there is something you don't see.

What is so different from JL's other rowing vests??
Two main differences: First, the Splashvest has a full-length zipper; second, the windbreak shell fabric is on the front as well as the back. After you get out of the boat, you can use this vest in sports where you face forward!

How snug should I wear it?
The Splashvest has breathable stretch side panels, which give you some movement. Wear the vest close to your body but not snug. But it is the thickness of the fabrics you choose for your garment that dictate how snug it will fit--fleece will take up some of the volume. Should I worry about getting the tail stuck in my tracks?
Not at all! When sized correctly the tail lays flat; protecting your lower back completely yet still "floating" far above the tracks.
